Holy Angels Regional School, founded by the Holy Union Sisters in 1923 as St. Francis DeSales Catholic School, was established as a regional school in January of 1977 as an opportunity for parents in eight neighboring parishes to provide elementary education in an atmosphere of Christian concern and faith values. In the Diocese of Rockville Centre it was the second such regional school and, at present, is one of sixteen regional schools. It services seven parishes, namely Mary Immaculate in Bellport, St. Frances Cabrini in Coram, St. Joseph the Worker in East Patchogue, St. Sylvester in Medford, Our Lady of Mount Carmel in North Patchogue, St. Francis de Sales in Patchogue and St. Margaret of Scotland in Selden.
Mutual cooperation between the faculty, administration, and parents nourishes this growth.
Holy Angels is a child-centered, family-sensitive Catholic School. We are dedicated to the development of the whole child: intellectually, spiritually, emotionally, physically, and socially. Our students are challenged to learn, lead, and serve as Jesus taught.
In addition to the Principal, there are 26 fully certified lay teachers, many with advanced degrees, who give a certain stability to the school because of their commitment to academic excellence and length of service. Special part-time teachers give instruction in Music, Art, Spanish, and Physical Education. Grades Pre-Kindergarten through fourth has self-contained classes. Grades five through eight have departmentalized instruction from teachers specially qualified in their field. We have full-time health services provided by nurses. Students with special education needs are identified through the Patchogue-Medford Schools and service providers visit them here at Holy Angels during the school day. At this time our students are provided with resource room, speech physical & occupational therapies.

Graduates from the school have the option of attending St. Anthony's High School in Huntington, St. John the Baptist in West Islip, or the local public high school. More than 90% choose Catholic High School.
A parent representative from each of the seven parishes and one representative for non-regional families make up our School Board whose mission is to foster the growth and continued excellence of the school. Holy Angels has fundraisers and “fun raisers.” There are student-parent social activities such as a Father/Daughter Valentine’s Day Dance, a Mother/Son Bowling Day, and Family Fun Nights. We encourage parents to be involved in the daily activities of school life and we value their assistance and support in the following: Library Assistance, Field Trips, Candy Sales, Sports, Christmas Boutique, Food Services, Lunchtime and Recess Supervision, Magazine Drive, Auction, Book Fair, Plant Sale and much more.
