Religious education, both taught and lived, permeates the entire curriculum. Programs include prayer services and liturgical celebrations highlighting the seasons of the Church year, as well as preparation for the sacraments. In addition to other Mass times, the entire school community celebrates First Friday Mass each month. To deepen the bond between family and parish, children receive the sacraments in their home parishes after adequate class preparation. Special family Masses are also celebrated by the school community during the year.
A strong academic curriculum provides students with thorough training in the basics of Mathematics, Science, Language Arts, Social Studies, Health, and Spanish for students in grades 6 through 8, Physical Education, Art, and Music. Recognizing the individual needs of each child, teachers on all levels encourage the child to develop his/her own potential. Research skills and experimentation are essential parts of the Science curriculum. All classrooms have interactive SMART boards. There is a new computer lab and WiFi throughout the school. Computers are in each classroom. Grades K -8 on which they practice math, spelling, and ELA concepts.
To better inform the parents of the child’s achievements, parent-teacher conferences are held in conjunction with the distribution of the Assessment Card. Mutual support and cooperation between teachers and parents is a prime ingredient for the child’s academic growth. To provide an opportunity for all children in grades K through 8 to express themselves creatively, a Learning Fair is held in the spring.
